Phyllis

Phyllis owns AfroDeziac and works as its Natural & Textured Hair Master Stylist. She is a licensed cosmetologist with more than 30 years of experience in hair care.

Her work centers on locs, from starting and styling to maintenance, including palm rolling and interlocking. She also works on two-strand twists and extensions, loc extensions, rod sets, braids, and flat iron and silk press styles, and she works with a wide range of hair types and textures. She has developed a signature diamond-shaped parting method over more than 20 years, used for braids and twists.

Phyllis is a scalp-care specialist who uses magnification to look closely at the scalp. She offers non-medical scalp-care guidance and product recommendations, and she focuses on overall hair and scalp health and on teaching clients how to care for their hair between salon visits through the CrownCare approach.
