About
Pedro Abasolo runs Ovations Hair Studio, where he works as both a hair stylist and a makeup artist. For more than twenty years he has served clients in the entertainment business and the social and fashion elite, focusing on styling and makeup for celebrity clients. His work spans makeup for television, print and weddings.
He has worked with Madeleine Albright, Lloyd Bentsen, Chayanne, Alejandro Fernandez, Marc Anthony, Cynthia Duque and Kate Del Castillo. During a Houston visit he styled the Teleton USA hosts, and he was chosen as makeup artist for former First Lady Laura Bush during her stay in the city.
He was named Director of Hair and Makeup for the 9th Annual Latin Grammy Awards, the Selena ¡VIVE! tribute concert and the Taylor Swift Fearless Tour, and he served as Fashion Ambassador of Premios Texas 2013. Univision Houston selected him as its official image consultant and stylist. He also does makeup for local theaters, fashion shows and international beauty contests. His work has been featured in the Houston Chronicle and other television and print media. The Consulate General of Mexico in Houston recognized him as one of the most distinguished Mexicans in the city.
He is the official makeup artist and hairstylist for the Latin Grammys.
