About
Paul practices as a dermatologist and Mohs surgeon at Trueskin Dermatology & Surgery. He holds board certification in dermatology and from the American Board of Internal Medicine, and is a fellow in Mohs micrographic surgery. He has offered Botox and fillers since 1998 and has used Botox for headaches since 1999. He received a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Brigham Young University (BYU) and a medical degree from the University of Southern California in 1988. From 1988 to 1991 he completed an internal medicine residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, followed by psoriasis training in Dallas and a dermatology and skin surgery residency in Cleveland, Ohio. He spent six months on Mohs surgery training at Case Western Reserve in Cleveland and at Baylor in Houston, and completed a preceptorship in patch testing for allergies. He has also taken cadaver dissection courses focused on skin cancer and aesthetic procedures, along with continuing education in dermoscopy and laser updates. Before returning to Utah in 1997 to resume private practice, he worked in a full-time post as an assistant professor with the dermatology department at the University of Florida in Gainesville. There he taught dermatology, skin surgery and aesthetic dermatology, and taught skin pathology and skin surgery to residents. He led a research team that identified a gene linked to psoriasis, a finding published in the journal Science. His clinical interests cover skin cancer detection and removal, Mohs surgery included, and laser, filler and Botox work aimed at body contouring, wrinkles, freckling and aging. He also performs patch testing for skin allergies.
