Nisha S. Desai, MD

Nisha S. Desai, MD, is a general dermatologist at NW Dermatology Institute in Portland, Oregon, and has worked at the practice since 2011, when she joined after completing her residency. She practices general adult dermatology, pediatric dermatology and cosmetic dermatology, and her patients range from newborns to older adults.

Her training began with undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan from 1998 to 2001. She then attended medical school at the University of Toledo from 2003 to 2007, graduating Alpha Omega Alpha. She completed a pediatrics internship at St. Louis Children's Hospital in 2007 and 2008, followed by a dermatology residency at Oregon Health & Science University from 2008 to 2011. She is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology.

She has a particular interest in diagnosing and medically treating hair disorders. Her hospital privileges include Providence St. Vincent Medical Center and Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital and Medical Center in Portland. Her professional memberships include the North American Hair Research Society, the Cicatricial Alopecia Research Foundation, the American Academy of Dermatology, the Oregon Dermatology Society and the American Medical Association.
