About
Nia Banks owns the practice and serves as its board-certified plastic surgeon, leading the surgical work. Training began at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where she graduated in 2002, followed by the Integrated Residency Program in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She was the first surgical resident to complete that program. A craniofacial fellowship at Hospital Necker-Enfants Malades in Paris, France, followed, focused on reconstructive surgery for children with congenital anomalies. Her focus covers breast procedures, including augmentations, reductions and lifts; facial work such as face lifts, ear surgery and nose surgery; and body sculpting. She has carried out a large volume of breast augmentations, reductions and lifts. She sees men and women travelling from Glen Burnie, Baltimore, Columbia and surrounding areas, including Washington, DC. Outside the practice she serves as Vice Chair of Surgery at Doctors Community Hospital in Lanham, Maryland, and co-owns Art of Balance Wellness Spa in Baltimore. She is board-certified in plastic surgery, a diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She wrote a chapter on breast and trunk reconstruction for a book and keeps contributing to surgical publications. She has also been recognized by the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women honor, which backs entrepreneurs.
