About

Nedjetti Harvey runs Hair by Nedjetti LLC, a business she founded, and works as a cosmetologist with a New Jersey cosmetology license. She has worked as a loctician since 1994. She has 14 or more years in hair artistry and over 20 years as a natural hair care specialist. She has taught natural hair care for more than 10 years and has been a L'Oreal platform educator for over a decade, and she also teaches for Soft Sheen-Carson. Earlier education work includes a 2009 role as natural hair educator at New Jersey City University and a 2010 session teaching natural hair care to ten-year-olds at Little Sistahs in the Know. She judged for NAHA in 2021. She also keynotes events, appears on camera and judges hair salon competitions. She is certified in the Interlocking Weaving System and the Wrap NetWeave System, both certified by Master Weaver Clem Lue Yat. On screen, her hair work appears in The Affair (Season 2), The Good Wife (Season 7) and Law and Order: SVU (Season 16). She served as department head for hair on the film Red Hook Summer, handled key hair on Sharknado 2 and provided key hair for a 2011 Don Giovanni production at Lincoln Center. Runway credits include New York Fashion Week shows, among them Nina Skarra in Spring 2013, and she also worked on the HGTV program Dear Genevieve. Her hair work has run in more than 50 fashion, beauty and bridal publications. Clients listed include Jada Pinkett Smith, Melba Moore, Uzo Aduba and Danielle Brooks, and a piece of her work is on display at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture. She does not do makeup and brings in makeup artists when a job needs one. Her work covers celebrity hair, men's grooming, and film, TV, runway and red carpet jobs. She is the author of the memoir HAIR ME OUT. She works by five principles: passion, professionalism, promptness, precision and personality.
