About

Nancy Fuchs is the salon owner, master stylist and founder and creative director of Portal Salon in Hillcrest, San Diego. She also works as an international educator, and she has taught and worked in Europe, Asia, South America, Mexico and across North America. She serves as Director of Education and Creative Development for INSIGHT Professional North America, part of an Italian professional haircare brand.

Her cutting specialties include shags, pixies, carved textures, curly hair and wavy hair, along with lifestyle haircutting. On color, she works on creative color, platinum blondes, natural tones, gray blending and complex color correction, and she offers the full range of custom color services. Creative consultation and blonding are also among her listed specialties.

She believes a transformation does not have to be dramatic to be effective. Her aim is to help each client wear their hair in the most personal way possible. She also spends time mentoring the next generation of stylists and overseeing continued education for her team.

Approach
Cuts are built around each client's features, hair texture and daily life, and color is planned to suit both the cut and the person wearing it.
