Nadwa Yono

Nadwa Yono owns the salon and became a cosmetologist at 18. Early work was at established Detroit-area salons, followed by training under leading educators, including Trevor Sorbie of London. In 1991 Sorbie chose her from hundreds of applicants to teach at national shows. She is certified in the Extended Wear technique. She founded Salone Nadwa and Day Spa in 1994 and has more than thirty years of professional experience. Her work spans hair attachments, wigs, extensions, color, wellness and fashion, and she has studied those areas across the United States and abroad. Her clients have included local celebrities, TV anchors, and Red Wing players and their wives. She is often invited to speak as a health and beauty spokesperson for local and national media, including Good Morning America. She was named to Crain's Detroit Business Forty Under Forty for 2000.
