Miho Kitajima

Miho Kitajima is the founder and owner of Miho hair extension and M&M studio nyc, and works as a hairstylist. She began braiding hair in 1999 and spent five years at a professional salon in Tokyo, then worked at a braiding salon in Tokyo from 2003. She trained in New York at an African hair braiding salon to learn about Black hair.

She opened a salon space inside a beauty supply store on 125th Street in Harlem in 2006, moved it to another beauty supply store in 2009, and opened M&M studio nyc in 2014, adding Japanese nail art. She has been an authorized stylist for Kaneka America since 2008, working on hair show promotion, advertising shoots and product development, including product ideas and consulting on items in pre-production. She taught seminars at the International Beauty Show New York for several years.

Her focus is hair extensions for all hair types and intensive hair and scalp treatment for damaged or thinning hair. She has taken part in hair shows including the International Beauty Show New York, the International Hair Show New Jersey, Cosmoprof North America, Premiere Shows, the Bronner Bros. International Hair Show and Hair Brazil Professional in Sao Paulo. She was featured in the NHK BS documentary NY Wave in 2009. Singers, dancers and models have requested her services for photo shoots, and magazines, hair shows and art events have featured her work internationally.
