Mieke Kammers

Mieke Kammers is a Level 4 Stylist and Lead Educator at Menagerie Style House. She has been working in hair for 21 years and also trains other hair stylists, and she has returned to an educator role, which she says has added to her career. Early on, a boss in Michigan named Jeffery shaped her view of the guest experience.

Her specialties are lived-in color and curly cuts. Each visit starts with a thorough consultation, where she asks plenty of questions to pin down what the guest needs before customizing the service. Services can include a shampoo scalp massage, and for styling she reaches for Aveda Botanical Repair Styling Cream and a round brush.

She keeps her skills current through online education, in-person classes and hair shows, and she values teamwork, often talking ideas through with her teammates. She says the most rewarding part of the work is seeing guests leave more confident in a new look.
