Michael J. Frederick

Michael J. Frederick, MD, is a cosmetic surgeon at BeWell MedSpa who focuses on cosmetic surgery planned around each patient's goals. He describes modern plastic surgery as sculpting and shaping the body, not only removing tissue.

His training includes plastic surgery at Harvard University, aesthetic surgery study at The Pitanguy Clinic in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and medical school at the University of California, San Francisco, where he was awarded the Dean's Scholarship. He graduated summa cum laude from UCLA.

He served as the first Chief Resident at Massachusetts General Hospital and was on the plastic surgery team for two face transplantations at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. He has written cosmetic plastic surgery book chapters and articles in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Annals of Plastic Surgery, and has been invited to speak on surgical techniques at national plastic surgery meetings.
