Michael Adam

Michael Adam is a hair stylist who also teaches and invents styling tools, with more than 18 years in the hairdressing trade. He trained at Don's Beauty College in San Mateo, California, and has opened three full-service salons in the San Francisco Bay Area. He is an active member of the California Cosmetology Association.

He regularly takes part in major hair shows as a platform artist and has worked with professional brands including Nexxus, AG Care, Scruples and Focus 21. He has taught many classes for hairstylists, and several professional hair magazines across the United States have featured his work. He has produced seven instructional updo DVDs. He has also presented his work at shows and education events in Thailand, South Korea, Hong Kong, Japan, China, Lebanon and New Zealand.

He is known for building fashion dresses entirely out of hair, a work that earned national recognition. He also invented the Twistmaster, a styling tool meant for weddings, proms, special occasions and everyday use. His specialties include hair color, highlights and ombre, balayage and keratin treatments, straightening and precision cutting, wedding and special-event hair and updos, and trend-driven styling.
