Merlande Petithomme

Merlande Petithomme is the master hairstylist and owner of Platinum Salon by Merlande. Her career began in 2007 at The Salon by InStyle, inside JCPenney in Tallahassee, Florida, where she spent nine years advancing to master stylist and then lead artistic master stylist. Before that, by age 15, she was already running a salon offering basic services. She later relocated to Atlanta to open her own salon.

Her film, television and editorial hairstyling includes work as key hairstylist on Children of Blood and Bone, which is scheduled for release on January 15, 2027. Her magazine, runway and campaign work has been featured in Allure, Essence and Black Bride. Fantasy and competition hairstyling are her primary specialties.

She has placed Top 3 in over 11 competitions across the U.S. Her wins include first place at the 2019 Fantasy Hairstyling competition in New Orleans, a result featured on the Netflix series We Are the Champions, along with first-place finishes at Bronner Bros BB Cover Girl (2016), Champion of Weaves (2015) and Hair Fitness (2014).

She has over 10 years of experience as a licensed cosmetologist, educator and certified hair loss practitioner, and has created custom wig units for over 15 years. She also teaches styling techniques in classes for fellow stylists.
