Melissa Soon

Melissa Soon is the founder and co-owner of Soon Beauty Lab and works as an owner and Master Stylist at the Carroll Gardens location. She opened the original salon in the East Village in 1999. She has lived and worked in New York City for more than 20 years. After arriving in the city she explored the hair field and found that salon work was what she loved. She helped create the salons, mentors and teaches new hairstylists, and leads the apprentice training program alongside a team of educators.

She describes her work as creative, technically executed and wearable, and aims for cuts that clients like and that others see as flattering on them. She brings fashion and art into her clients' hair. Clients book with her by calling the salon, since she does not take online bookings.
