Melissa Martinez owns Meljestic Spa in Cooper City, which she opened after working at two separate med spas. She has more than a decade of hands-on work in skincare and hair removal, and she carries out each treatment at the studio personally. She holds a Florida esthetician license, a Florida electrologist license and certification as a phlebotomist. Her focus areas are laser hair removal, electrolysis, facials, chemical peels and microneedling; for microneedling with PRP, she takes the blood used in the procedure herself. A free consultation covers skin type, medical history, current medications and goals, after which she suggests a treatment plan and how many sessions it would take. She handles the skin assessment and the treatment at every appointment, so a client sees the same practitioner across a whole series. Treatments in a course are adjusted based on how the skin responded previously, and she prepares individualized aftercare plans.
