Melissa Funk Nelson

Melissa Funk Nelson is an owner and stylist at The Hair District Collective, listed at both the Maple Grove and Plymouth locations. She has been practicing professionally since 2002 and has worked at the collective since 2005. She earned a BS in Clothing Design from the University of Minnesota in 2001 and trained at Aveda Institute, finishing in 2002. She has taken many advanced Aveda classes, including Aveda Congress and Aveda Master Jam.

Her further training includes Bumble and Bumble University Immersion I in 2008 and Design Workshop I in 2009, Essential Balayage with Intelligent Nutrients IN Motion, Redefining Artistic Color at L'Oreal Soho Academy NYC, and Advanced Balayage with Jessica Vosper through L'Oreal Professionnel in 2012. She is Brazilian Blowout certified, from 2009. Her services include haircuts, shampoo and style, blowouts, updos, color, highlights and lowlights, balayage and smoothing treatments.
