Maxim Chumak

Maxim Chumak founded Hair By Dr. Max Restoration Center in Fort Lauderdale, where he serves as medical director. He holds an MD and has focused exclusively on hair restoration since 2016. Prior to medical school, he worked as a registered nurse. He received his medical degree from the American University of Antigua in 2008, finished a general surgery internship at Michigan State University in 2009, and completed a family medicine residency at Wayne State University in 2012. He has more than 20 years of surgical experience and spent about 14 years as a physician in the United States Army Reserve, reaching the rank of Major.

His credentials are MD, ABFM, ABHRS Diplomate and FISHRS, and he is a Diplomate of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery. He became a Fellow of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery in 2025 and is an ARTAS iX Platinum Provider. Since April 2019 he has served as a Principal Investigator for ARTAS robotic technology. He has taught on the ABHRS Board Review Course and presented on hyperbaric oxygen in hair transplantation in Denver in 2024, and on fractional laser hair restoration and hyperbaric oxygen in Berlin in 2025. He directed the physician symposium on scalp micropigmentation at the 31st ISHRS World Congress in Delhi in 2023, and he is Program Chair of the 34th ISHRS World Congress, set for October 15-17, 2026, in Rio de Janeiro.

His practice covers FUE transplantation, complex transplant repair and donor preservation, No-Shave and Long-Hair FUE, and female transplants. He also treats patients with Afro-textured and tightly curled hair, and offers robotic restoration with ARTAS iX alongside growth factor therapies, hyperbaric oxygen therapy and scalp micropigmentation. In consultations he reviews a patient's hair-loss pattern, donor capacity and treatment options, and discusses candidacy, limits and realistic expectations before any treatment.
