About
Matthew Kanengiser is the Creative Director of La Boom Studio, which he opened in Brooklyn in 2000. He began his New York career on Madison Avenue in 1991, working with Bruno Pittini and serving as his personal assistant at a high-end salon there.
He trained first as an apprentice under Vyacheslav Dudenko in Kiev, where he learned modern techniques. He later learned the French Technique of hairdressing under Bruno Pittini on Madison Avenue, and afterward worked at Peter Coppola's salon, where Oscar Blandi was Creative Director.
His focus is precision hair sculpting in the French Technique, aiming for volume, movement and a shape that lasts. Many of his clients are longtime friends in acting, sports, music and society.
