About
Matthew J. Trovato, MD is a board-certified, fellowship-trained plastic surgeon who sees patients at the Dallas Plastic Surgery Institute and at an office in Montclair, New Jersey. He began his education with a bachelor's degree from Duke University, earned cum laude, and went on to a medical degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, where he was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He completed general surgery training at the UMDNJ New Jersey Medical School, followed by a residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at UMDNJ. Fellowship training in hand and microsurgery was done at the Buncke Clinic in San Francisco with John Q. Owsley, MD, and in craniofacial surgery at UTSW Dallas. He has received several research awards, including first place at the New Jersey Society of Plastic Surgeons Resident Research Symposium on two occasions, and his research has earned international accolades from plastic surgery associations. He teaches as a clinical faculty member at Baylor University Medical Center and co-leads the pediatric and craniofacial fellowship at Medical City Dallas. Privileges are in place at Texas Health Center for Diagnostics and Surgery, Texas Health Presbyterian Plano, Medical City Frisco, Dallas Day Surgery Center, Live Oak Surgery Center and Medical City Dallas, with affiliations at Medical Center of Plano and Forest Park Medical Center. His cosmetic work spans surgical and non-surgical procedures. Surgical options include eyelid surgery, forehead lifts, facelifts, neck lifts, chin augmentation, and breast augmentation using implants or fat transfer. Breast augmentation consultations address implant type, size, texture, profile and incision placement. He performs Botox and filler injections, chemical peels and laser treatments himself, and he has designed Mommy Makeover plans. He uses advanced incision and suture methods to reduce scar visibility, blends techniques from different procedures to aim for natural-looking results, and provides detailed aftercare with scheduled follow-up visits. He is known for his bedside manner and for making sure patients understand their treatment. Dallas-based D Magazine has picked him as its top plastic surgeon in the city for eight consecutive years.
