Matthew J Mommer

Matthew J Mommer styles hair with a focus on curly textures, aiming for shapes that move and feel natural, with soft lines and blended color. He was trained in San Francisco. In 2000 he began with the HairPlay and Joe Hammer Academy team, working closely with Fritz Clay and Joe Hammer there, and later he took over the education program at Joe Hammer Academy. Earlier, he spent two years in Los Angeles with the Kaz Amor and Warren Tricomi team, working on set with celebrities and at red carpet events. He then joined Courtney Wagle at Damia Salon in downtown San Francisco, where he trained the assistants in the cutting and styling department. He also worked at Alibi Salon SoHo in New York. In New York, he was Creative Director for the Moët Hennessy brand ambassadors program and joined the Paul Fox team in SoHo/Nolita. He now works in San Francisco and New York City, styling and creating looks for brands and events as a freelancer. Appointments are booked by email.
