Mark Yates, O.D.

Mark Yates, O.D., serves as Assistant Director of Optometry at Arizona Eye Institute & Cosmetic Laser Center, where he works as a medical optometrist overseeing both routine vision care and more complex medical eye cases. He has more than 30 years of optometry experience and works alongside the practice's founder and director, Emilio M. Justo, M.D.

His clinical work centers on glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and dry eye syndrome. He also handles cataract care, including pre-operative diagnosis and post-operative care after cataract surgery, and routine vision care remains part of his caseload.

He earned a Doctor of Optometry from the University of Missouri - St. Louis School of Optometry, following a bachelor's degree in General Studies and Pre-Optometry from the same university. His internships were at the State University of New York School of Optometry, the Kansas City Veterans Administration Hospital Eye Clinic, and the University of Missouri - St. Louis School of Optometry Eye Clinic. He plans to keep expanding his education to stay current with new treatment options in medical optometry.
