Mark Heiner

Mark, who has about 30 years in hair, opened SLATE Studio in the East Village in 2008 and leads it as Founder and Creative Director. Early on he joined Garren New York as Garren's personal assistant, then moved backstage at major fashion shows, working with models including Naomi Campbell, Amber Valletta, Carmen Kass, Karolína Kurková and Cindy Crawford. He has also worked with photographer Steven Meisel and makeup artist Pat McGrath on editorial projects. He has worked with Sarah Jessica Parker, Winona Ryder and Britney Spears, and early in Candice Swanepoel's career he helped her change from redhead to blonde. His training includes color study under Joel Warren at Warren Tricomi and cosmetology training, and he is a graduate of the USC School of Cinematic Arts. His strengths are dimensional color, blonding and precision cutting.
