Mariella Purvis

Mariella Purvis is a physician assistant (PA-C) with the practice and has worked in dermatology in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area for over twenty years. Before moving into dermatology, she spent two years as a physician assistant in family practice. She earned a biology degree from the University of Richmond in 1994, followed by a master's in medical science as a physician assistant from Emory University in Atlanta, completed in 1998. Her dermatology training, finished in 2001, covers general dermatology, cosmetic dermatology and dermatologic surgery. Her practice spans medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology for children and adults. She treats acne, eczema, psoriasis, rashes, moles and warts, and performs biopsies, cryosurgery, excisions, neurotoxin and hyaluronic acid injections, microneedling, chemical peels and laser treatment of sun damage. She has a particular interest in patients of all skin types.
