Maria DoVale

Maria DoVale serves as president of Smooth Aesthetics. Her nursing training includes an Associate Degree of Science in Nursing from Nassau Community College, and her listed credentials include R.N., L.E., C.M.A. and C.M.M. She is a Licensed Facial Specialist (Esthetician) who has been licensed for over 20 years, and she has worked in medical aesthetic procedures such as laser hair removal, photorejuvenation and chemical peels for more than two decades.

Her focus is intense pulsed light (IPL) treatment, along with hair removal and photorejuvenation. These treatments address pigmentation, rosacea, acne and hair removal on darker skin types. She is among the earliest in the world to offer IPL treatment and is counted among its most experienced practitioners. She is a Clinical Application Specialist for Lumenis.

She co-founded the IPL Educational Institute and co-developed Epifacial. She was an early trainer in hands-on medical aesthetic workshops and has taught medical professionals internationally for more than 15 years, among them former leaders of a dermatology society. She has presented on hair removal and photorejuvenation at national and international conferences. She served as president of the Nassau County chapter of Medical Assistants and belongs to the American Association of Medical Assistants, the American Association of Medical Managers and the American Academy of Medical Esthetic Professionals.
