Maria DeNicola

Maria DeNicola leads Senza Pelo Med Spa at 5702 N. 19th Avenue in Phoenix, a med spa that offers electrolysis and laser hair removal alongside Juvederm, Botox, LATISSE and collagen rejuvenation. She has worked in electrolysis for over 42 years and has been involved in serving the transgender community for nearly as long as that career. Transgender services are part of what the salon offers.

She trained at the Arizona State School of Electrolysis under Betty Williams and is a graduate of the Rocky Mountain Laser School. Her credentials include Certified Professional Electrologist, Certified Clinical Electrologist, Certified Laser Specialist and Certified Laser Technician, and she earned certification as a Certified Electrologist in August 1982. She also holds certificates of achievement from Altus Medical, Candela, LightSheer and ESC Medical Systems.

She is a member of the Society of Clinical and Medical Electrologists and the International Guild of Professional Electrologists, and she is a former president of the Arizona Association of Electrologists. For several years in the 1980s she served as president of A Rose, a local transgender support group. According to the salon, she received the Golden Probe Award, and she is mentioned in Donna Rose's 2003 book Wrapped in Blue.
