Margie Billian

Margie Billian is the owner of The Studio of Colour & Design, which she founded and runs in Rockville, Maryland. She started her own studio about 20 years before 2015, and her work centers on color and cutting.

Her specialties include haircuts, color, highlights, lowlights, multilevel foil color, glazing, custom shading, dimensional color and corrective color. She also does sensory integration work with some clients, and she has advised on styling for curly-haired clients and for older clients who want current services toned down. She serves on the foundation board of Jubilee.

She has been quoted or featured in several hair and beauty publications. These include Hair Preview in 2017 on making curly hair shine, a November 2015 Movember article on beard grooming, Celebrity Hairstyles ShortHair in 2015 on edgy styles and products and in 2014 on curly hair, Hair Cut and Style in 2014, and Process Magazine, where she offered advice on clients who over-color blonde hair. She has also contributed an article on helping clients with dandruff, and the Beauty Changes Lives blog consulted her on serving clients who prefer a calm environment.

She cut and colored hair at a Salon-a-thon, with the money raised going to special needs children, and she has styled the cast's hair for the Hebrew Academy Dramatic Arts Show for more than seven years. An Interfaith Works newsletter also featured a look she created for a mother of the bride.
