Lynne DeVere

Lynne DeVere is the owner and a stylist at Top Reviews Salon, where she focuses on precision haircutting and custom hair color. The salon's site lists her as an expert in both and as an international educator. She began her beauty career in 1977 at age 17, working at three salons in 1977 and 1978 before being hired as a designer at Hair Performers in 1978. A March 2020 blog post cites 48 years of industry experience.

She opened her own salon in Joliet, Illinois in 1980 and, while running it, taught advanced classes to licensed hairstylists. In May 1982 she moved to Hawaii, where she ran a John Amico product distributorship and worked two days a week at Leon Danielle Haircutters in Waikiki. In 1986 she opened her own salon and training center in Honolulu.

Her in-salon classes have covered precision haircutting, perms, body waves, spiral perms, Glazing Color Intensifier, Duragloss, hair color, consultation and marketing. She took the Hawaii cosmetologist state test around 1982.
