Louis P. Bucky, MD, FACS

Louis P. Bucky, MD, FACS, is a plastic surgeon and the owner of Bucky Plastic Surgery in Philadelphia, a practice he founded. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and has practiced for more than 25 years. He works across face, breast and body plastic surgery, and also offers non-surgical injectables and skin care. He performs more than 1,000 face, breast and body procedures a year, and patients have traveled to him from nearly every continent. He earned his medical degree at Harvard Medical School, completed general and plastic surgery residencies at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, and then trained in a breast cancer reconstruction fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City and a craniofacial surgery fellowship at Miami Children's Hospital. He holds the role of Clinical Professor of Surgery in the Division of Plastic Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. His research on facial aging produced techniques intended to preserve a patient's natural look after cosmetic procedures. He also performs neuromodulator treatments alongside the practice's aesthetic injectors. He chairs the Allergan Breast Aesthetics Executive Council, an advisory board of ten nationally recognized breast surgery leaders, and is a past chairman of the Perspectives and Advancements of Plastic Surgery Symposium. He is a past president of the Northeastern Society of Plastic Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the American Association of Plastic Surgeons. He has co-authored more than 100 publications in industry journals and has lectured at symposia in Stockholm, Sao Paulo, Toronto, Galveston and Chicago. His research on melanoma, breast reconstruction and fat transplantation has earned honors, and he has been featured in Good Morning America, CNN, Fox News, CBS News and MAMM Magazine. The practice calls him an award-winning, world-renowned plastic surgeon, and says he has been named a Top Doc in Philadelphia Magazine's plastic surgery listings. The practice also cites his listing in Castle Connolly's America's Top Doctors, his place on Newsweek's America's Best Plastic Surgeons list in all six categories, and a Best for Breasts selection in goop's Guide to Cosmetic Surgeons. He is available on call for patient concerns, and he has written or reviewed and approved the medical content on the practice website.
