Lisa Bukaty M.D.

Lisa Bukaty, M.D., is a dermatologist who came to Dr. Kathleen Hutton's Newport Beach office in 1996 as the first physician to join the practice. She works across the full range of dermatology, seeing men and women of every age for skin, hair and nail concerns. Mohs surgery for skin cancer is a focus, alongside dermasurgery such as biopsies, removal of moles and cysts, repair of torn earlobes and excision of benign growths. She has considerable experience treating actinic keratoses with photodynamic therapy, topical medications and cryotherapy. Cosmetic services include consultations and laser work for wrinkles, sun damage, red and brown spots and unwanted hair, as well as fillers, Botox, chemical peels and spider vein treatment. She earned an undergraduate degree in Human Biology from Stanford University in 1981, followed by a master's degree in public health with an emphasis on behavioral sciences and health education. She graduated from UCLA Medical School in 1990 with honors in internal medicine and as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Her internship was at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, followed by a one-year clinical dermatology fellowship under Dr. Gerald Weinstein at UC Irvine and a three-year dermatology residency at UC Irvine Medical Center and the Long Beach Veterans Administration Medical Center. She is board certified in dermatology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and belongs to the American Society for Mohs Surgery, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the Orange County Dermatology Society. She is on staff at Hoag Hospital and volunteers as a clinical professor in dermatology at UC Irvine.
