Lisa Amato

Lisa Amato is a hairstylist working at the Wexford and Aspinwall Tonic Salon locations. She worked around the Pittsburgh area for the first fifteen-plus years of her career, then moved to Colorado in 2009, spending about ten years in Boulder and about five in Denver. In Denver she joined TradeMarc Salon in 2020 and still returns to see clients there a few times a year. She rejoined the Tonic Salon team in Pittsburgh in 2025.

Early in her career she was a platform artist for Redken, and in 2021 she was a L'Oréal Professional Artist. She has also done freelance work for TV and editorial. Most of her training took place at the L'Oréal academy in New York City, and in 2025 she completed Journey to Mastery: Classic at the Oribe Academy in New York City. She was interviewed for an April 2023 article on the Rachel haircut and a 2023 article on balayage for curly hair.

Her work centers on lived-in color, dimensional blondes and brunettes, balayage, custom color and gray blending. She also fits hair extensions and is certified in K-tip, tape-in and beaded weft methods. Clients new to her are welcome to book at either Pittsburgh-area location.
