Laura Phan, MD

Laura Phan, MD performs all procedures herself at LaFace by Laura Phan MD in Saratoga. She trained in ophthalmology at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, where she earned a Doctor of Medicine with an ophthalmology focus. She then did a fellowship in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins University, and also completed training through the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, a program that awards about 20 surgeons a year. Before that, she worked as an oculoplastic, orbital and neuro-ophthalmology fellow at St. John Providence Health System, where she trained with oculofacial plastic surgeon Dr. Thomas Spoor. Her other credentials include a Master of Public Health from Yale University, a bachelor's degree in biochemistry from the University of California, Davis, and a year as a research fellow at Northwestern University. Her practice focuses on double eyelid surgery (Asian blepharoplasty) and traditional blepharoplasty, ptosis repair, brow lift, BOTOX Cosmetic, dermal fillers and Morpheus8 microneedling, and she also treats functional ophthalmic surgical problems. She has treated patients, carried out research and taught in China, Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi and Ghana, and has published dozens of scientific articles. She travels to Korea regularly to stay current on new techniques. She was named Best Plastic Surgeon in Saratoga by BusinessRate in 2025 and 2026, and named among America's Best Physicians 2026 by the National Consumer Advisory Board.
