Lady Lox

Lady Lox is the owner and loctician at Mz. Lady Lox, working from Room 33 in Atlanta. She is a licensed cosmetologist who also holds a Natural Braiding license. With over 20 years in the hair field, she specializes in loc care, color and creative styling, and is known for her signature red locs. She has also served as brand ambassador for the haircare line Jamaican Mango and Lime.

She trained at the Hogan Institute of Cosmetology, where she earned her practicing credentials. She received her natural braiding license and an instructional certification at SBC Braiding Academy in Virginia. Her mentors were Thando Kafele, Malaika Tamu Cooper and Maria Thompson.

Beyond the chair, she works as a traveling hair educator, teaching stylists and consumers at beauty shows. She has appeared on stages at Bronner Brothers, Taliah Waajid and several hair shows in the United States and abroad, and has taught at Premier hair shows, the Kansas City Natural hair show and Kembe Return to Your Roots in the United Kingdom. Her work has been featured in Essence, Sophisticates Black Hairstyles, Vibe, XXL, The Source, Braid Game and Taji. She also hosts the Loc Journey Sundays podcast guest sessions.
