Kristy

Kristy is the founder, creative director and clinical trichologist at Uptown Curl. She has worked as a curly hair specialist since 2010, directs Uptown Curl Academy and is a member of the World Trichology Society. She is AMCA certified and a graduate of the US Trichology Institute, and she holds Level 3 Deva Certified Stylist and Curl by Curl Certified Educator credentials. Her education includes Level 2 Advanced Deva Stylist and PsyCurlogy at DevaCurl Academy NYC, Art of Texture at DevaCurl Academy, and Curl by Curl with Lorraine Massey in NYC and England. She has also trained in Head Shape Matters, both in salon and through a four-day certification in Milwaukee, in Affinage Color in London and Italy, in Wella Color Academy in NYC, and in Oligo Color in salon. Aveda Texture Style with Naomi Dove was completed in salon, and she completed a two-day Kinky Tight Curls immersion in Melbourne, Florida. She is currently training to become a certified trichologist and phlebotomist. Her work centers on hair loss and thinning, including their causes and treatment, and she develops her own gray transition methods. She also sees clients at the Hudson and St. Paul locations and on location.
