Konika Schallen, MD

Konika Schallen, MD, is the founder of CMA, the Center for Modern Aesthetic Medicine, where she leads the medical team. She also acts as Medical Director of the Syneron Candela Institute for Excellence in Boston, and earlier held the role of Global Vice President of Clinical Education for Syneron Candela. Her training began at the University of Michigan, where she graduated with honors from both the university and its medical school. Her general surgery internship and emergency medicine residency were completed at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, and she is certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. Separately, she holds a Masters in Aesthetic Medicine Certification from the University of Baleares, in Mallorca, Spain. Academically, she has served as clinical faculty at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Today she is on the medical staff of Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville. Her clinical focus is lasers and aesthetic medicine, and across the last ten years she has collaborated with cosmetic dermatologists and surgeons in several countries. Her medical career spans more than two decades. She teaches laser application procedures to aesthetic professionals, both in Jacksonville and abroad, and she has lectured in more than 40 countries.
