Koji Toyoda

Koji Toyoda founded the salon and is a renowned hairstylist whose work is cutting-edge in style and precise in color. He began his professional career at 18 in Japan and was an established stylist there by 20. He spent six years in Tokyo working in salons and freelancing, and he did promotional work with Christian Dior and Shu Uemura during that time.

He moved to Los Angeles and began his American career at a West Hollywood salon. He has styled hair for Vanity Fair and for Academy Awards and Oscar red carpets over many years, and he creates original looks for actors on film and television sets. He opened the hair studio KOJI TOYODA AT KINARA in 2004, which operated for seven years, and opened a salon in Sunset Plaza in 2011 to focus entirely on hair.

He is trained extensively in hair design and color, as well as in Japanese hairstyling. His approach starts with a detailed consultation and careful execution, with results meant to look natural and suited to each client.
