Kim Sohyun

Kim Sohyun is the owner of Kim Sohyun Hair Design and works as a master hair stylist and makeup artist. She has been in the beauty industry since 2001, beginning in Seoul, Korea, and holds a hair stylist license in Korea as well as one in America. Her training started at the Sin Dan Ju makeup academy in Seoul in 1999, followed by the Sin Dan Ju hair academy, completed in 2001. She also studied at two beauty universities in Seoul and later earned a cosmetology degree from Carsten Institute in Tempe, Arizona, in 2005. The American schooling focused on modern hair design with an emphasis on color. She regularly attends hair and makeup shows around the world, including recent ones in London, Seoul and Tokyo. Color design is her specialty, and she also offers wedding styling that covers hair and makeup together. She works with techniques suited to all hair and skin types and colors. Earlier work includes wedding hair and makeup in Seoul from 2001 to 2004, when she also owned a wedding styling business there, serving as primary style artist for a news anchor at MBC television from 2002 to 2004, and leading a seven-person hair and makeup team for an opera in 2003. She was also lead makeup and hair stylist for runway models at a Cornelis Hollander fashion show in 2005. She has won a number of awards for this work.
