Kay Matthews

Kay Matthews is a hair designer and makeup artist at the salon, working with every hair type. Her television and film work covers hair and makeup, and she did the extensions for the movie Coffee. She has styled braids for Christina Aguilera and handled hair and makeup for author Terry McMillan, at the EMP opening events alongside Paul Allen, and for Elisa Jaffee at the Seattle Planet Hollywood launch. She has also done hair and makeup for runway events, including Arena's autumn and spring collections, plus Armani and American Team Yes. Away from the styling chair, she has coached hair, makeup and fashion stylists on shoots, helping them plan the concept and choose the model, photographer and wardrobe. She received the North American Hairstylist Award in 2004 and has won the Northwest Stylist Cover Contest three times. Each client starts with a consultation about what they hope to achieve, and the service is planned around those goals.
