About

Katya Yoshida works as a hair artist at Capybara Hair Lounge. Her professional career began in Sacramento at Bravissimo, and she later served as a L'Oreal Professional educator. She joined 77 Salon in Oakland as one of its first stylists, where she built the cutting education program and taught for nine years. She says 77 Salon won multiple Best of Oakland awards during her time there. She later built and ran her own studio, Tekstura Salon in Piedmont, which is now Capybara Hair Lounge.

Her focus is enhancing natural texture, creative and precision haircuts, and easy wash-and-wear styles. Her work has been featured in Sacramento Magazine and Latest Hairstyles, and has appeared in Lamb's and Ed Hardy fashion shows and for Rammstein and Ali Wong.
