Katrina Hess

Katrina Hess owns the studio and works as its makeup artist. She has been doing makeup for brides in Boston for more than twenty years, and her bridal work has taken her from Back Bay to Bermuda. She is a licensed Massachusetts cosmetologist. Her career includes time with Intercoiffure Salons, an international design team, and with Revlon Professional Products, as well as overseeing the cosmetic staff at several May Corporation locations. She trained with Damone Roberts in his master eyebrow class. Her specialties are brow shaping and tinting, and bridal and wedding makeup, including destination weddings. She also does corporate makeup for photo shoots, head shots, videos and workshops. She tweezes brows exclusively. Allure Magazine's Best of the Best named her for brow shaping in 2008 and 2009. She teaches private one-to-one lessons built around each client's needs and offers self-application lessons for wedding makeup using a face chart, at the studio or on location. Consultations include skin-care advice on cleansers and products containing lactic acid. She recommends velour mink lashes over extended lashes, which can damage natural lashes. She works with brides, bridesmaids and mothers, and occasionally sees men for brow shaping and skin care. She prefers that a bridal look be chosen around the venue, time of day and season.
