Kathy owns Whole Body Beauty and works as a stylist, now independently under Shangri La. She trained at the Aveda Institute starting in the early 1990s and holds a cosmetology license from Aveda, received in 1995.
She then held three consecutive instructor positions at cosmetology schools: Scot Lewis School of Cosmetology, Minnesota School of Cosmetology and Hastings Beauty School of Minnesota. She also owned and operated HAIRitage Salon, LLC in Prescott, Wisconsin for four and a half years.
