Kate Dolinar runs Kate Dolinar Hair, where she works independently as a stylist in New York City. Her focus is on cuts and color that grow out gracefully and ask for less styling each day, and some of her cuts are designed to be dried in the air. Many people book with her after their hair has started to feel like upkeep, whether that means a cut that falls flat unless it is styled or a color that loses its tone quickly and needs frequent touch-ups.

Her client base has built up over the years and includes regulars in the city as well as people who travel in from Connecticut, Long Island, New Jersey and Upstate New York. Her clients have included Al Pacino, Janeane Garafalo, Nikki Glaser, Carrie Coon, Frankie Shaw, Zoë Winters, Mark Webber, Cara Buono, Anjali and Eleanor Friedberger.

Outside the salon, her work has also included an Adidas Stan Smith campaign and YouTube content, along with projects connected to the Tribeca Film Festival, Stand Up for Heroes, New York Fashion Week and Bust Magazine. TimeOut NY Magazine named her one of NYC's best hairstylists.
