Kat Kern

Kat Kern is the owner of the salon and works as a senior cutter and color educator. Her career began in 1998 on Maiden Lane in San Francisco's Union Square neighborhood. She has styled clients for the stars and worked on photo shoots and sets in San Francisco and New York, and her work has been featured in Town & Country, Allure, Ladies Home Journal, 7x7 magazine, and on Channel 5 News San Francisco. She earned a Master title as a color educator. Early in her career she trained in Vidal Sassoon cutting techniques and Wella International color techniques, and she spent many years specializing in cut and color. She continues her education and keeps up with current hair trends. Her certifications include Certified Hair Loss Specialist for fine and thinning hair, nationally listed and certified Deva Curl Inspired haircutter, Certified DEVACURL haircutter, and Certified Trichology Practitioner with USTI and AMCA. She is also a member of the American Hair Loss Council, nationally listed and trained in women's hair loss and restoration solutions. Her focus is curly, fine and thinning hair, along with hair loss, color correction and corrective color work, and hair extensions, wigs and hairpieces. She is known for tackling unique and difficult hair needs. Hair loss clients are offered a private, caring space, and she believes hair should enhance a person's best qualities.
