Karen Wood

Karen Wood works as Skin & Nutrition Therapist at Dermatrition. She holds a Licensed Medical Aesthetician (LME) license and is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). She earned a Nutritional Sciences degree from Georgia State University, graduating summa cum laude in 2001, and completed her aesthetics training at the Atlanta Institute of Aesthetics in 2007. Her earlier clinical dietetics career included work as a Registered Dietitian at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School, before she returned to Atlanta in 2004. Her nutrition experience covers childhood and adolescent weight management, adult medical nutrition therapy, and neonatal care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Northside Hospital. She began practicing as an aesthetician after her 2007 training and spent nine years at an Atlanta dermatology practice. Her focus areas are skin longevity, pigmentation, acne and nutrition support, and she performs medical-grade aesthetic procedures. She continues to study skin science and nutrition. Clients receive medical-grade skin treatments with guidance on topical routines, nutrition, supplements and lifestyle. Each visit opens with a consultation covering skin, nutrition and lifestyle factors that may be affecting the skin, and the plan that follows is built around the client's skin, goals and the outcomes they want.
