Karen Mesa

Karen founded Lumine and serves as its lead esthetician. She holds a New Jersey Licensed Skin Specialist license and is a Certified Esthetician in the State of New Jersey. She completed 600 hours of skin care education at Christine Valmy International School of Esthetics and Cosmetology in Wayne, New Jersey, where she received her diploma in June 2025. She also earned an Associate in Applied Science from Berkeley College in December 2011. Her focus is clinical work. Her certifications include laser training in advanced technologies and microneedling in collagen induction therapy, and she has been trained to design advanced microneedling protocols with Xcellaris Pro. She has also completed Fundamentals of Nanoneedling and a masterclass on the Bioline Jato Lifting Code treatment. Her credentials further include SkinCeuticals University and credentials in advanced chemical peels and medical aesthetics, and her specialties are advanced chemical peels and microneedling. She has more than 15 years in the field, over a decade and a half of specialized work. She completes 100 or more hours of continuing education each year and is a professional member of Associated Skin Care Professionals. During appointments she assesses the skin and hears concerns before options are raised, walks through why a treatment may help and what to expect, and suggests a gentler or different option when one fits better. Some concerns may need a medical professional's evaluation, and she welcomes clients who want careful care and candid guidance.
