Karen Helton Powanda

Karen Helton Powanda owns Kiss N' Makeup in Austin, where she works as a makeup artist. Her career started in Southern California, and she later extended her work to clients abroad. She holds an esthetician license in Texas and California and trained under two celebrity makeup artists. Her specialty is hand tweezing brow shaping. Her makeup work includes sculpting, color and light techniques. She travels to Los Angeles and New York City to bring current beauty industry trends and techniques back to her Austin clients. She has trained makeup artists across Texas and locally in brow shaping and makeup techniques, and has spoken as a guest at cosmetology schools in the Austin area. For special occasions she makes guest appearances at salons and boutiques in Austin and Dallas. On-air work includes HD TV makeup for KXAN anchors and reporters, and she has appeared on segments aired by KEYE and FOX News, as well as on Studio 512 on KXAN.
