Kali Patrice

Kali Patrice is the founder of The Original Hair Whisperer and of The Image Studios, a Chicago personal branding firm opened in 2000. She studied chemical engineering at Carnegie Mellon, and she started cutting hair as a teenager and ran a small hair business through high school. During her undergraduate years she worked as a hairstylist at DC Styles, a salon in Pittsburgh. Before founding her own businesses, she formulated relaxers, hair color and styling products for Dudley Products, Soft Sheen and other startups. She took on the Original Hair Whisperer name in 2016 and launched HairCamp Home Edition in 2020. She has been involved in five hair-related television series concepts, three books and one feature film through media and entertainment collaborations. Her work centers on highly textured hair, personal image and hairstyle selection, and personal branding. Through The Image Studios and FLUENCE Strategy she offers values-based communication and transformation work. Her clients have included Deloitte, Fannie Mae, CBS, CDW, BP, BMO and Rush University Hospital, and she has supported more than 200 women, leaders, founders and media personalities. She offers The Alchemy Experience, a private seven-week engagement for women exploring entrepreneurship after a long career, limited to five clients per season, with weekly 45-minute sessions in weeks three to seven, in person or by video. She also hosts the Wash + Wear Wednesdays sessions, giving tips and advice. She has been recognized as an Entrepreneurial Woman of the Year honoree.
