K. Robin Carder, MD

She earned her bachelor's degree at Davidson College in North Carolina and her medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Her postgraduate path runs through a pediatrics residency at Children's Medical Center of Dallas, a dermatology residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, a clinical dermatology research fellowship at Harvard Medical School in Boston, and a pediatric dermatology fellowship at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, where she trained under William L. Weston, MD. She previously served as chief of pediatric dermatology at Children's Medical Center of Dallas. From 2001 to 2006 she held an Assistant Professor of Dermatology post at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. She has also served as president of the Dallas Dermatological Society. Her clinical focus is hair, skin and nail conditions in infants, children and teenagers, among them eczema, acne, skin problems present at birth, birthmarks, moles and inherited skin conditions. She has a particular interest in laser treatment for vascular birthmarks. She has contributed chapters to several pediatric and dermatology textbooks, peer-reviews for medical journals including Pediatric Dermatology and the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, and continues to teach dermatology and pediatrics residents. D Magazine and Best Doctors have named her among the Top Pediatric Specialists.
