His training started with a medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in 1992, then a general surgical residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center and plastic surgery sub-specialty training at Baylor College of Medicine. He also completed a reconstructive microsurgery fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center and a fellowship in human genetics at the National Institutes of Health. Overall he reports more than 15 years of post-graduate training, including specialized preparation in microsurgery and breast reconstruction. He came back to the Washington DC area to practice in 2005. His reconstructive practice is known to include breast reconstruction and treatment of melanoma and skin cancer. Cosmetic work covers breast augmentation, breast lifts and breast reduction, rhinoplasty, facelifts and eyelid surgery, and tummy tucks, liposuction and mommy makeovers. He has authored more than 20 professional publications and presentations, including over eight peer-reviewed journal articles, and writes the practice's procedure blog posts. He holds staff privileges at Sibley Memorial Hospital, Suburban Hospital and Virginia Hospital Center. U.S. News and World Report has recognized him as a Top Doctor, placing him among Maryland's top 40 plastic surgeons, and Washingtonian magazine ranked him among Washington's best plastic surgeons. Bethesda Magazine interviewed him as a breast augmentation expert, and the site describes him as award-winning. He received the Merck Award for Clinical Excellence in 1992.
