About
Julene B. Samuels is a plastic surgeon who is board certified in two specialties, holds an MD and FACS, and practices in Prospect. She received a B.S. in Pharmacy from the University of Kentucky in 1982 and her medical degree from the same university in 1987, graduating with distinction both times. Her general surgery training was a five-year residency at UT Southwestern/Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. She then completed a plastic and reconstructive surgery residency at UT Southwestern/Parkland and Baylor Medical Center, training alongside leading figures in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. She is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery and has been named a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She belongs to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. She has served as an Associate Clinical Faculty member at the University of Kentucky and the University of Louisville, where she has taught cosmetic surgical techniques to plastic surgery residents since 1995. She also sits on the External Advisory Board of the University of Kentucky Lewis Honors College. Her published articles on cosmetic facial, breast and body contouring surgery have appeared in national medical journals, and her research on intimate female wellness has been published in the same journals. She has also written book chapters on intimate female wellness. She works as a consultant, speaker and clinical investigator for Candela, BTL, Apyx Medical and InMode, and as a clinical investigator for Mentor Corp. and Allergan. She has additionally spoken and conducted clinical investigation for Quanta in Florence, Italy. The BTL Center has designated her since 2017, and Candela has named her a Center of Excellence since 2018. She is an expert injector for Sculptra Aesthetic, Botox, Restylane, Juvederm, Dysport, and Allergan and Galderma products.
