About
Joy Lager runs JL Makeup Studio, where she works as owner and makeup artist, and she also works freelance as a makeup artist based in Pittsburgh. Bridal makeup is a specialty, and she has worked with hundreds of bridal parties. Through Beauty by Joy, a freelance company she founded in 2011, she takes on makeup work independently. She has also done freelance makeup artistry for M.A.C. Cosmetics. She has worked in the industry since 2001. Early on, she was lead makeup artist at The Salon at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort & Spa, and that role is where she first trained. Her work has appeared in WV Wedding, The Knot, Pittsburgh Magazine Wedding Edition, Confetti Daydreams and Borrowed & Blue.
